    Jack, Jill, and Nag
This is Jack, and when we bought him we were told he was het for something and from looking at him he looks like he is either a Yellowbelly or is het for Yellowbelly. By comparing him to Jill, you can see that he obviously does not have normal coloring on his sides.

This is Jill, the normal BP

And this is Nag (named after the male cobra from Rikki Tikki Tavi). He's a male Green Ghost BP.

Thanks for looking guys, and I look forward to your opinions of Jack's coloring.

But there is no such thing as a Het for Yellow Belly and if he was a Yellow Belly you would be able to see it. He just Looks like a Nice Normal! :salute:

Thanks for the pictures. Nice bp you got there. Check out the sticky on this forum. It will help you out with the basic genetics of ball pythons.

Remember that while he may look normal, he could be het for any recessive morph. Het means that the animal carries the gene, but doesn't have any visual for it. When you breed 2 het animals, you get the possibility of producting the visual of that gene.

Welcome to the forum by the way.

They are nice looking bp's you have. I would call the person you got the first one from and see what it is het for. There is no het for yellow belly and I don't think it looks like a yellow belly. I would call it a high gold, will make some nice babies.

Thanks guys, found out that the BP whom I had mistakenly thought of as het for yellowbelly is actually het for ivory. We'll hopefully be having some nice babies from him.

    Het Ivory = Yellowbelly

That looks nothing like a Yellowbelly in my opinion.

If you are certain, breed him to a YB female and you should get Ivories, but I am certain that is a normal.

    Nice looking balls...:weirdface
Could be het for anything but not ivory:rolleyes:
Either way I would call it a nice yellow sided normal for now and start reading like stated above.
