Is the Acurite Thermo-Hygrometer Mod.#00891 no longer being produced???
is it me or is this particular model no longer being produced?

    http://i44.tinypic.com/11j9aad.jpg

i purchased one at a lowes in '07 and a few later on in '08 at a local walmart but recently one my female BP's detached the probe from the base unit so i figured i'd go out and buy some more just in case it happened again and i cant find this model anywhere; lowes, walmart, homedepot, amazon.com, and target just to name a few. i mean this really sucks or maybe its just in my area which is northern california. but i refuse to switch over to those little analog dials, if anyone has some recommendations to an alternative thermo-hygrometer could you all please post a pic of the device and where it can be purchased at. because it looks as though i'm not having any luck..

i thought it was just me which it was. so i went to another walmart which was about a 35min drive and they had a whole shelf loaded of them so i picked up a few of them from there.

that leaves me to believe, since my local walmart is always out of stock im wondering if there are any local snake breeders or something. because its weird that everytime i go there they're always out of stock and im always looking puzzled like "man why in the world are they always out of stock". and since im using them for my snakes lol i always assume that there must be some local breeders or something that i dont know about who comes and cleans out the shelf of acurites :D

Just so you are aware - if you can't find that particular model, any digital indoor/outdoor thermometer will do the same function - it doesn't have to be the Acurite brand. In other words, if this model WERE discontinued, it doesn't mean you have to go back to a dial thermometer.

The Walmart closest to me has NEVER carried this particular model of Acurite.

It looks like this and has all the same features as the previous model.
