How to find out the sex?

Can i tell the sex of my ball python without probing it?i live in romania and here a vetenerian doesen't have a clue about reptiles and cannot tell me the sex of my ball python...so is there a way of finding out?he is about one year old...

I told you i can't probe it...i was wandering if there is another way like the lenght of the tail or something like that...

The only two way's are Popping and Probing. Ok well there ultrasound for testis or ovaries but you said the vet was no up on reptiles.

i took my BP to the vet yesterday and they probed but weren't sure what it was... they said they thought it was a girl but i was never given a definitive answer, is this common? If it matter the snake was struggling with them the whole time.

Probing and popping are two different process. Watch that video as it is very informative.

Probing is NOT what's shown in the video. That's popping. Ralph Davis also has a good video on popping.

not to go too far off track, but popping is harmful for adults, yes? I was going to take my older norm to a local shop, but the guy there said they pop them and I was a bit uneasy about popping an adult. am I right to avoid popping on an adult?

No different than popping a baby.. Most people don't like to because they can't. Adults have more muscle control so it's harder to do but not harmful.
