    BP feeding schedule?
I have had my BP for about a year and a half now. He is about 7 years old, and used to belong to my cousin. For the last 6 months or so, I have been feeding 1 small rat per week. He is around 1000-1200 grams( I dont have a scale so i dont weight him often) and a small rat has been about as fat as him. He has grown some, and now those rats are only around three quarters as big as him. I just bought like 15 small rats, so I need to use those up before I get medium rats which are probably the correct size.

So here is my question: Would it be better to feed him 1 rat every 5 days, or 2 every 7-9? I am somewhat reluctant to feed 2 at a time because he has never eaten 2 of any size anything before.

Since he is an adult male that is neither growing quickly, nor using up energy breeding, I'd think he would be ok continuing with 1 small rat per week. If he is showing signs of hunger, then either of the 2 feeding schedules you proposed would probably be fine.

I wouldn't feed two small rats every 7-9 days. He'll most likely end up being overweight on that schedule. I agree with Casey, a small rat every 7 days should suffice since he's not growing alot and not breeding.

I would think once you bump him up to medium rats, given his age and size, that you could probably feed him once every ten days.
