18 month female royal off food
    hey

need a bit of help here as my 18 month old female royal python has not fed now for around 3 months!

she had been a fantastic feeder up until then but just seemed to suddenly go off her food.

she still seems healthy and happy with correct viv setting and is very active at night around her viv.

she has recently been striking her food but not holding but dropping it straight away which is probably the most confusing part!

would she be old enuff to be affected by the breeding season? she is around 3 feet long.

any help would be very much appreciated!

First, this post should be under BP husbandry but that's a different matter. I've had my male pastel strike and coil but then not eat. I think I either scared him while he was eating or it's too big of a meal for his liking. They may be differently affected since she's a female but we have a few males that have been off feed for a month or two. Just keep trying and give her peace while she's trying to eat. Good luck!

I have written a similar post. What I got from it is that she is being affected by the winter. If she is a good size, I wouldn't worry. Continue to offer her a prey item and frequently check her weight to make sure she does not loose a lot of her weight.

I have 4-5 five subadult females that haven't eaten in 3-4 months. I'm also pretty sure it's the weather. Just monitor her weight.

she took a large mouse last nite so would prob have been the climate change as we have had a ridiculously cold winter here and are just seein the end of it now.

will get her back on her rats next week and hope she is back to normal!

thanks 4 ur help and sorry falconsmith, just new to this place so not 100 percent sure how it works yet.
