    Help?
One of my corn snakes ripped a couple scales off on his side. I think it's from rubbing against things because he's about to shed but I'm worried that it might get infected. Is there anything I can put on it to prevent infection? I've heard bacitracin works.. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

If he is ready to shed it should not be a problem. If it looks reddish then you can place a little(just a small amount) neosporin on the area :gj:

Make sure the neosporin does not have any pain killers in it.

Take some pictures, does it look red and bloody or is it just white and flakey?

He just passed the blue eyed stage and he usually sheds about 4 days later. It's feels like a scab and has a slight bump under it. It's kinda brown. I don't know if that's dried blood or not. I will try to get pictures later.

He should be OK. If its just a couple of scales I wouldn't even worry about it. Just keep an eye on it and it will heal.

I'd be more concerned about what caused him to get injured in his set up. Try seeing what it was and remove it so it doesn't happen again.

Ok. I tried to get pictures but none of them showed it very well (any one with corns knows how hard it is to keep them still for pictures:D). It looks alot like a mouse bite... But that's not possible because thay all eat F/T mice.

I'm not too worried about it.. I just don't want it infected. It could've been anything really. As soon as he gets blue eyes he starts rubbing on everything! Like he thinks that will make him shed faster or something. He's got some rough surfaces in there. But he's never had a problem with them before.

Well he shedded last night which is early for him. But it's mostly fine now. Just white were the scales should be. It looks slightly irritated but I'm not worried about it anymore. Thanks for all the help.
