Weird behavior

I checked on my balls this morning and found one laying on its back it stayed in this position for about 30 minutes before it flipped back over. Can anyone tell me if this is normal. :please:

If the snake appears to be perfectly normal, and your husbandry is correct, it's probably nothing. BG would check double check the temps though.

It's also very common if you're breeding Balls.

My temps are about 60F right now and I'm letting them cool a little bit with the weather i want to try and breed this year. She ate last week I hope its just part of the breeding . Thanks

60????? That's waaaay too cold even if you're trying to breed. You better raise that close to 20 degrees right away. You start to push your luck if you cool much below 75. They can't take it too cool for long without getting sick.

If you're this unsure about your snakes, you may want to hold off on breeding them. A lot of people here (myself included) recommend getting a baby female, raising her up and learning about the snakes that way before even attempting to breed.

This forum has a whole host of information available to you, the care sheet is especially useful. The search feature can get you other information as well.

Since the OP has been a member here for well over a year, I'd guess he/she already has had the snakes for a while and gotten some experience with them. Perhaps there was just confusion on how low to let the temps get when cooling for breeding?

OP, I'd recommend bringing the snakes back up to normal temps (80 cool side, 90 warm side) and observing them carefully for at least a couple weeks. If they show no signs of illness, then you might decide to go ahead with your breeding plans. However, it is getting towards the end of breeding season, so it might be best if you just wait until next year, and do lots of reading in the meantime to make sure you know what to do.
