    I need help
We got my son a ball for christmas and everything was going fine. He ate regularly went thrrough a shedding and picked up his feeding after the shed. But all the sudden he has been acting aggressive {striking at glass} and refusing to eat {for going on 3 weeks}. I'm worried about him and I won't allow my son to handle him until he calm down again. Is this behavoir normal or is something seriously wrong?

best way to calm them down is handling them, just heads up tho a bp bite doesnt hurt just shocks you more than anything

Aggressive behavior can be the result of a few things and what would really help here is if you could elaborate and give us a little more info regarding your BP

    • How big/old is he?
    • How big is his enclosure?
    • What are your temps? (What type of thermometer do you use to measure them, dial, digital?)
    • What is your humidity? (What type of hygrometer do you use to measure them, dial, digital?)
    • How many hides do you have? How they tight and identical?)
    • What do you feed your BP (prey size) and how often?
    • How often do you handle your BP?

I disagree if the animal behavior has changed there is obviously something going on, if stress related adding to the stress by handling and not looking for the cause of this sudden behavior is not the solution.

Sounds like a scared snake to me. Does the snake have a place to hide? Something he can really jam himself into? If you elaborate on your caging and how you are feeding you may find people better able to offer you some insight.

i agree, i would make sure all the husbandry is addressed first and go from there. as the OP said, a lil more info on the guy/girl and the setup would be a helpful

Jake is about 24-26 inches long. He's in a 10 gal aquarium with a large water bowl on 1 side, a large branch in the middle and a anug hide on the other side. He's been balled up and staying in his hide lately. He usually eats 1 white mouse once a week, but we are now going into the 3rd week and he's refusing to eat. He's struck out twice, once when we had to change the location of his habitat, and once the following day, which we thought was due to being hungry. But when we tried to feed he wouldn't touch it and drew back from it.

What are you heating it with? What are you measuring temps with? You should have a digital thermometer to measure cool side(80-84 degrees) and warm side(90-94 degrees) with an ambient(air) temp of at least 75 degrees! You should have 2 identical hides, one of each side! You may want to cover the sides and back for added security! You should have an under tank heater for the warm side. If you can provide pics of the tank than we can help you more in detail!
