Was bound to happen sooner or later
First retic bite. Was peeling some shed off my tiger and she gave my arm a look. I knew I was screwed, so I went to tap her head to let her know I'm not feeding her and then she grabbed onto my hand and began to constrict. Had both my hands handcuffed for about 10 seconds. When she let go, about 20 seconds after biting, she was the typical sweet snake I always take out of her cage. It was a food response, she picked up the scent of the rats outside of the room. Bite alone didn't really hurt, it hurts more after cleaning it and what not.

Rather be bit by one of them than by my ball pythons. At least they already have a reputation of being bitey. Though this is my first retic bite in a minimum of two years keeping. And I've probably been bit 50+ times by balls.

That purple just looks pissed in the head shot picture. I love their coloration though.

Our bites are kind of like a badge of the hobby. Haha. Its not really a matter of if it will happen but when. The thing is, its usually our fault. :D Mine have come from smelling like a rat and grabbing my SD for a cleaning only a few days after a big meal. The actual bite never hurts, its the aftermath. I dont think many people really understand that. Its kind of like a shot.
