About my LPS and ???'s

Hey all!! Well today I went to my LPS to get some mice ended up getting 3. Well i was just looking around because when i got my snake about 4 weeks ago i rushed in and out and didn't know anything about a lot of reptiles and there setups. Well today i was looking at the snake enclosures and even the one my BP was in and i noticed NONE of them had HIDES, HEAT MATS, LIGHTS, NOTHING....:mad::rage:. they didn't even have thermometers. I even looked at the Green Iguanas they got in a week ago and they had like 10 in maybe a 30 35 gallon tank no water and a 75 watt basking light inside the tank.. I don't know to much about Green Iguanas but isnt baby's suppose to be GREEN well they where GREY... They look dehydrated and sick :mad:... Even the fish tanks where so dirty inside you couldn't even hardly see the fish... I didn't say anything considering there the only shop around that sells feeder mice and i was going to get couple males and females and she said they only carried the males GRRRR or she lied.... I feel bad that i didn't say anything but Jeez something i think really needs to be done about it

?????? Do you all think i should report them because that place was really bad in my opin..

?????? And is there anywhere i can buy live mice online they way i can just breed mine

Most LPS keep their females for two obvious reasons. 1) so you can't breed your own and 2) so they can always have plenty of females for themselves. Also I might be a little concerned buying feeder rodents from a place which obviously wasn't up to your sanitary standards. You can check Craigslist a lot of people sell their surplus rodents on there. I did hear of some people selling live rodents through the mail but I don't know if it is common.

Alot of times rodent breeders will only sell their males because they keep the females to breed. I have to specifically ask when I want females and they are always very small unless I pay extra for the larger females

Not surprised about the no hides things. Alot of LPS dont keep hides in snake cages cuz then u cant see the snake :rolleyes:
