Classic recessive's

This could totally be just me, but I will take recessive gene's any day of the week at current market prices. The albino ball python transformed herpetoculture, everyone who can should own at least one, I mean come on, they are the George Washington's of ball pythons (taking some liberties with history here). But that morph transformed what people thought/did with snake keeping, and catapulted this hobby into a little bit of popularity and wealth for many.

I do believe pied's are the most eye popping for non-reptile lovers. My non-reptile loving friends see them and their minds are blown. They see my bumblebee's, yellowbelly's and cinnies and I get a blank look. That said they all think the crested geckos or panther chameleon I have are 'the coolest animal I own'....not what I want to hear with a large BP collection!

No particular morph in mind, but I just see a lot of subtle co-doms/doms that I just do not get. Maybe I have not done my genetic homework, but I am happy to take the next few years to raise a few recessive het's and catch up. Panda pieds are awesome, but I don't need another all black snake. I grew up with those, black rat snakes, they were mean.

Recessives are some of my favorites: albinos, pieds, clowns, axanthics. I can't wait to start adding recessives and recessive hets to my collection. :) :D An albino male is 3rd on my list on what to get next.

Well while all the above is true, not everyone is into albinos or pieds, including my self. And with this, not everyone has $500+ laying around to get a BP which they dont really like its color :P

Other than that, I love Axanthics :D

With some of the subtle ones, it's about the super or the combos. A yellowbelly is a prime example. On their own, they don't do anything for me and to the untrained eye, look normal. But think of the ivory they produce or some of the combos that involve them like the yellowbelly/pastel or the inferno. Vanillas are another. They kind of look like a light colored normal but the super is awesome and when combined with a fire, they produce the vanilla cream which is a fantastic combo. To me, I don't just look at the base morph I look at what it could when combined with other genes.
