Just had to post my excitement! I have a 09 cinnamon male who has been a difficult feeder. I have had him for several months now. He would only eat live mice since I had obtained him. (And with his breeder as well was only eating live). Well, after much work, and of course AFTER I obtained three mice for breeding, I finally converted him! My method was to heat the rat pup up very hot with a hair dryer, as well as placing a big mound of bedding from my mouse cage into his cage. He came out when I placed the mouse bedding in there due to the scent, and then was very interested in the pup doing the zombie dance on my tongs. Then WHAMMO, he struck! :taz:
I'm sure those of you who have had difficulty converting snakes can understand my excitement. I thought this day would never come! I had been spoiled with three other snakes who had no problem converting, so this was a new challenge for me.
I think it has proven very helpful to have some live mice handy to scent things.
