What thickness of melamine to use for a rack?
I am in the process of drawing up some plans for a rack that I would like to build. What thickness of melamine have most of you used that have built your own racks?

    Thanks,

    George

3/4" is what I've used on all of mine

3/4 is all they sell unless its pre fab cuts from manufacture

Actually, my Home Depot seems to have replaced their 3/4" with 5/8" melamine. Could be that the manufacturer is cutting costs a bit since that 1/8" by 4' by 8' would eventually start adding up... That said I'd rather use the 5/8" as it's just as sturdy, and probably marginally less heavy.

5/8 if you can get it will give you the strength you need and save you a little money and weight
