for florida / georgia / like climates / rodent related

I am about to move to a new house. It has a very nice, big, wooden frame aluminum shed sitting on a big slab of concrete. it has a glass window that can be opened with a screen. The aluminum is green, and it is not insulated in any way. The new house is in Jacksonville, Florida. The shed is mostly shaded by a couple of trees.

So here is my question. In the summer time on a hot summer day when the temps are nearing 100 degrees outside, If I had a ventilation fan constantly blowing air out (or in) the window, how hot do you think it would get in that shed?

Reason I ask is because I am trying to figure out if I can possibly keep my ASF rats in this shed. Now bare in mind, these rats are NOT normal rats. They are from africa, and I have already learned that they are much more tolerant to higher temperatures then normal rats. For the last 3 years they have been kept in my garage with no HVAC vents, and no windows.. In the peak of the summer it would get up to 95 degrees or so. While they drank more water during the hotter months, they were fine, and their production numbers were actually higher during these hotter months.

Honestly with a big enough ventilation system, where are can circulate outside to inside, you should have no issues at all.

Mike I had similar set up last year,but we just moved at years end. I ran a rotating fan constantly, during summer months, and it was fine. The shed I had was insulted fairly well thou. You do have power so you can run a room a/c during peak hours.

Yeah, I figure I can insulate it very easily with little investment if it will actually make a difference.

I could go down the ac unit route but I really don't want to.... would much rather just to the low cost fan route if it will work.

yea i would for sure put up some insulation itll make a huge differance then put a little fan in there and youll be happy

I would put a window a/c unit in there for the summer, I really don't think a fan is going to keep it cool enough in there
