How hot is too hott??

i got a 150 watt on the tank 12 hours a day, 8am-8pm, under the light can reach a high of 98.5, but right beside her hide on the other side is sitting around 80, is that okay?

idk to me 98.5 would be too hot

should i maybe get a smaller bulb?? im not sure what to do here, maybe i should try putting my red light on. seeing if that bring it down to 90ish?

How high is the 150w bulb above the basking spot? In 18" tall aquariums I was using 100w spot bulbs to hit around 93ish. This was with a 'normal' ambient room temp (74-78).

Just realized your lower temp is right on, so if you lower the wattage of the bulb you should do something to raise your cool side temp (UTH w/thermostat).

Just buy a lamp dimmer from walmart or home depot or whatever other big box store.
