Re: normal to a het albino!
Nope. Your normal is a homozygous dominant while your het albino is a heterzygous snake. A homo dom to a het will only produce normals and hets, but there will be no way knowing which ones are het.
You can find stuff like this out with a simple punnent square.
Re: normal to a het albino!
i'm pretty sure that you will not get binos.
Re: normal to a het albino!
Everything from a clutch with that pairing will be 50% Het Albinos, and like was already stated you will not know which animals are hets and which are normals.
The fact that het albino males are basically the same price as normals, might as well get a het male. :gj:
Re: normal to a het albino!
With any recessive gene (albino(all strains), axanthic, pied, clown, ect) both animals have to cary the gene for that mutation. A het to het pairing gives you a 25% chance on each egg being visual for that mutation, visual to het each egg has a 50% chance, visual to visual every egg will be visual. I beleive there is a very good sticky post @ the top of the page that explains all of this. Perhaps people should be reading this and trying understand the genetics abit so they can ansewer some of these questions
Re: normal to a het albino!
Thanks everyone! I guess I gotta shop for a het male!
Re: normal to a het albino!
NOPE waste of time & effort.get a albino & breed it to a het,or go the cheaper way & breed two 100% het for albinos together for a 25% chance.
