    behavior question
So i have a normal male BP, he's housed in a 20L glass tank currently. Here is some background for the setup:
    Cool side temp 80-82
    Warm side temp 92-94
    Ambient 80-82
    Humidity 50%

The tank has 2 identical hides(one warm side, and one cool side) which fit him tightly, temp is controlled via an UTH attached to a thermostat.
No lights are setup for the tank, however the room gets lots of ambient light from a window.

So now for the question...He spends all of his time on the cool side of the tank (now granted im not sitting here looking at him all the time, but i never see him in the warm side hide. It would lead me to believe that the warm side is too warm....but considering that i've check the temps with two different thermometers i know this isnt the case.... So i guess im asking, is it normal for him to spend ALL his time on the cool side of the tank?

Could the fact that i use the room he's in frequently in the evening (i.e. light in the room is on for a few hours a night) have anything to do with this behavior?

I've had this BP for a little over a month, i feed him every friday, and he feeds like a champion. He's yet to defecate(which is also a little bit of a concern), or shed. Any insight would be appreciated!

I would only be worried if he sat on the cool side right after a meal.

How are you measuring your hot side? Where is the probe for your thermometer?

They go where they like to be. Some snakes like heat more than others and vice versa.

Nothing to be alarmed about, he may be going on the warm side when your asleep for a hour or so and that about it.

yea I have a couple that like their cool side much more....they do go to the warm side ocassionally....

As long as everything is right...then they know what to do.

Warm side does sound just alittle bit hot to me. You could always try bringing it down a few degrees and see if he goes over there more.
