exo terra water dish
anyone else notice their water dish gets slimy after a couple of days?
I like the look of the my exo-terra dish , but I noticed that my other ceramic water dish doesn't get slimy after a couple of days like the exo-terra dish does.
When I go to change the water , it feels like its got a slippery film like algae or something. but the ceramic dishes I have still feel squeaky clean when I rinse them out.

That's why I use the Stainless Steel dog water bowls sold by Petsmart. Solid, one piece construction with a rubber ring along the bottom. No issues at all, no slime, easy cleaning too. They have enough weight that the snakes don't usually turn them over. A little pricey, but I like them. They come in sizes that fit the needs of most snakes, from the little 3 inch to I believe a 12 or 14 inch wide bowl.

Re: exo terra water dish
I use these great small clear glass bowls I found at the dollar store for my water dishes. They are a breeze to clean, and it's very easy to tell when the water needs a change.
I was nervous about using glass at first, but these bowls are very stable and hard to tip, because they are straight sided and nice and wide. Not to mention and $1 each, they were dirt cheap!

I change out the water every other day so I don't really have that problem. I'd do it daily, but I got kind of lazy about it. :P
