Yea, it would be great if the %'s were like 3 female babies to each male baby but generally I get more males too. I don't know why, luck of the draw I guess. The guys usually get grown out and feed off. I keep them if it's time to replace a daddy and I choose the one with the biggest kahonnies.

After a 1 1/2 years of breeding I had 60/40 males to female. In 2009 I had 350 males to 215 females. This year I have got 75 males to 52 females and probably 2 litters this week.

Why would you want more females?

    The males grow much larger.

Some people have pointed out that the higher the protein, the higher the male count. My first litter from 1.2 was like 14 males and 3 or 4 females.

I get mixure of male and females. i find it funny that my problem is that my mice mutliply fast but they never get large. All my rodents have more male to female ratios. I always feed all but 2 males off and end up feeding the adult male off and end up with random litters after that never had much luck of a steady breeding. some times they breed and then kill all th youngoff like they preventing me from reducingthe numbers cause they not repalceing themselves enough.. ( am going to take my oldest tank and offthe lot and aquire new ones this spring my luck I make the arrangementss and they all drop babies )

I guess males are better for the feeding aspect.
I was just thinking in terms of the breeding , since you always need more females than males for that.
