If this is a serious request, just asking is a good indication you may need help. Please listen to your family and friends, they will not do anything to harm you.

If you're not serious, your nuts for posting this message.:rolleye2:

    Good Luck!

You realize this is a forum of online strangers, yes? I'm not exactly sure what we can do for you.

Go see your doctor if you are worried, but be somewhat pacified by the fact that you are recognizing symptoms in yourself. You aren't currently taking a psych class by any chance, are you?

True schizophrenia is Waaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyy different than it is portrayed in the movies, just putting that out there. but visit web md and tell me what you think, THEN visit a real doctor.

this was in no way to offend you, its just some peoples self diagnosis is a lil off.

A VERY common symptom of many different mental disorders is that the people who have the disorders don't think anything is wrong. You already say that your doctor says you have it. The next step is to go to a qualified psychiatrist for an in-depth evaluation to determine if you have schizophrenia, or bi-polar disorder (also called manic depression) which is often misdiagnosed as schizophrenia, or some other issue, and hopefully to get on some medication and in counseling to help you.

My friends Mother in law and sister in law has it. It is not something to mess with at all. If you have it....you need to be on the proper medication for this and continue the meds. If you have a serious stresser in your life....or you are not taking your meds....you could have a break down. At this point your schiz will get worse...typically you would have to be put on different meds or stronger meds. But again from what she tells me once you have a breakdown....you dont recover fully from it and it gets a little worse.

A hugesymptom of this is denying it....and refusing to take your meds.

Yes, once prescribed medication, trust your physician! I have worked with many people with schizophrenia in my days. The ones that take their medication as directed will surely exhibit less symptoms. Far too many of the people I came across did not follow the council of their doctors and subsequently worsened their conditions and general standard of living.

I have bipolar disorder that was once misdiagnosed as schizophrenia. Somtimes bipolar disorder can present with the same symptoms as schizophrenia. I went to a different doctor and got correctly diagnosed and put on some meds. I have been on meds for this since 1998. I am doing quite well now. You really do need to get help if you think you have any mental health issues. There is help available to you. My biggest word of advice is that if you are put on meds you need to stick with taking them. I screwed up a lot and went off my meds. I have since learned how important it is to take your meds. Good Luck to you.
