    Quick question
Is it unusual to see no signs of developing in a female thats been getting consistant locks since November?

I see my pastel boy, and my big normal girl getting all freaky-deaky every time I pair them (3 days on. 4 off) and have yet to see any developing behavior in the girl. I've started to palpate 1-2 times a month and I'm not feeling follicles. That could easily be my own inexperience, I just find it strange that everyone seems to be getting ovys and I've yet to even feel follicles :tears:

The first year i bred mine i missed everything except the eggs :P.The palpating is kinda hard for some to know what they are feeling.

And she just ate last night. A full meal too (large rat). What does that mean?

Just be patient, dont palpitate too often as it might cause stress, especially if your not great at it, I personally dont even palpitate cuz im not good at it

    Re: Quick question
If I were you I would offer smaller meals. those large meals will make her development slow.

Offer her small rats (possibly medium, if they are on the smaller end) and you should see more development. With large meals like that she will be more focused on digestion than egg development.

Its the only meal shes had since November. It was really just a test to see if she even wanted food, I was actually shocked to see that she tagged it.

I have a female that did the same thing. Went off feed for a few months then all of a sudden took two meals, now she is off feed again.

    They like to confuse us.

Must be this crazy Oregon weather, huh Turbo?

I guess I'll just be patient. Male gets introduced tomorrow night.

Huh... interesting you mentioned living in Oregon, since I live in northern CA and have the same issue. :confuzd: My girls have been locking since Sept & Nov respectively, mostly with my pastel, and nothing yet! I'm also new to breeding, so it's possibly I've missed the development - but we don't seem to be anywhere near ovulation. I do have one in shed and another who's kinda glowing, so here's to hoping for both of us!
