    Talk about pairing until ovulation!
I paired my Spotnose het Axanthic to my poss. het Axanthic last night and noticed a lock this morning. After leaving for the day I came home to find her ovulating. She caught me by suprise, I thought it would be at least a week or so more for her. I pulled the male as his work is done. That guy would work a soda can over if you gave him one.:D He actually thought she was one.

Thanks. Besides the Poss het Axanthic girl, she was definately my biggest ovy. Ovys are so much bigger in person. It's kinda hard catching the actual swell on camera though. That's why my angles are so wierd, trying to catch the actaul size.

She got even bigger last night. It's kinda funny because I had a girl with 8 follicles that had a smaller swell that this girl and she had only 6.

Hey congrats on the ovulations :gj:

Dont mind if i ask? How were you able to predict that there was a week or so left before ovulation. What were some of the signs?

I palpate my all of my females(probably too much). I have tried my hardest to familiarize myself with follicles sizes and when they ovulate. I've been pretty close to the ovulation dates of my other females. This girl just developed real fast at the end. Females can actually develop 3-5mms a week towards the end of development(she obviously developed 5mms or more in the last week). I hope that helps you understand a bit. I'm sure I just confused you more, sorry.

Thanks that was actually pretty insightful, so basically you know just about how fast they are growing by palpating and when you witness a big growth spurt in a short time span usually that indicates that they are near ovulation right?
