    permit help!
    ok so were i live you need as permit for a ball python, thing is i dont know how to get one. someone help me please!:(

    Possibly Game and Wildlife Commision. Never heard of needing a permit for a BP

    You do here in NJ. State Fish & Wildlife are the ones who handle it here.

    If you have a local herp. society by where you live or even one in your state, I would start there. They should have all contact info you would need.

    Yo do in my county as well. "any constrictor-type snake" is how it's worded, which includes balls. The regulations will be different according to where you are, but I know I have to have proof of where i received them, proof that they were imported legally or bred in the country, $50,000 in liability insurance, a statement from the vet that they're healthy, proof that they have adequate housing, etc etc.

    Needless to say, I'm still getting to all of that...

    Look up Animal Control for your area. They're the ones I have to register with here.

    Well, I can't say anything negative about the "proof that they have adequate housing" bit, as that's obviously beneficial to the animals (assuming the person doing the inspecting knows what "adequate housing" is for the animals in question), but the rest of that seems a bit over the top.
