Cinnamon versus Black Pastel

I know that several morphs such as Mojave and Lesser Platinum can be bred together to produce similar "super" forms, blue-eyed leucistics ...is this the case with the Cinnamons and Black Pastels? I.e., could you breed a Cinny to a Black Pastel and have a chance of getting an all-black/dark snake?

Also...my eye seems to have a hard time with it, could someone please tell me the difference between the two? Some Black Pastels look like Cinnys to me, other times some Cinnys look like Black Pastels to me. Help?

Yes, Cinnamons and Black Pastels bred together create an all black snake.

black/cinnamon would be better compared to butter/lesser than lesser/mojave

Really? Lesser/butter look exactly alike (and I personally think they are the same, just different "lines", much like pastels), where as lesser/mojave are more distinctly different. Black pastel and cinnamon area also more distinctly different.

some are distinctive, some look like the other. I convinced they are exactly like butter/lesser. sure they all have a text book look to them they tend to have. but theres cinny that look like blacks and vise verse and all the combos are the same general result, even the same super form even when bred together. just depends what the black/cinny looks like that made the combos.

I'm sure for every picture you could show me of a black/cinny combo looking different, I could show you a picture of pastel combos looking different, just depends what the pastel that made it looks like and i think we all agree pastel lines are all the same morph.

I agree with this statement 100%. Butters and lessers are identical for the most part. Once and a while you see a cinny that looks like a black and visa versa and same goes for mojave lesser. These are just bad examples of the morphs which happen with every morph. I have seen pastels that look like normals. Once again this is a bad example of one as most people could obviously tell the difference of a pastel and a normal.

If you have seen many many hundreds of these morphs it starts to become very clear of the differences and also what is just a bad representation of the morphs.

Quality black pastels and cinnies are dramaticaly different(see my pic above) as are mojaves and lessers. Poor examples (which is usually a minority) can be similar. Thats why good breeders pay a little more for quality animals but there is always a good deal on a mutt;)
