    Temp Gun question
    Hay everyone,
I have the PE1 Temp Gun and I was wondering, how far from an object do you hold the temp gun? I get different readings at different distances. I never know witch reading is the right one.

    Thanks,

    Dave

the further away you are the larger an area the temp gun is sampling. Read in your instructions it'll give you this funny looking cone chart that tells you the area sampled at what distance.

With small temp guns, you want to be within about 3 inches of your target.

I bought it at the Tinley Park show a while ago and it was his last one (display) and didn't have the instructions. I will go to the web site and see if the manual is online.

    Thanks,

    Dave
