not sure what to do from here
ive been on a mission to breed my 1500+ female with a male since about the summer. ive been pairing them up for a while now on and off and ive witnessed some "locks" wich in my mind were pretty definite. ive seen about 4-5 in the last 4 months. now the reason for concern is ive had the female for about a year now and shes never missed more than 2 meal times. she has recently begun to refuse food. she (as well as the male) have only eaten once in the last 2.5 months. rats become expensive quick and i have nowhere to put them. see the situation???? i havent been able to feel any bumps in the female that would lead me to believe she were prego but then again im no expert. help/suggestions please? im hoping for some babies soon!!

Simple stop buying rats until she either lays eggs or starts looking for food.Once they are in the breeding mode its common for them to stop eating and they will not eat until they come out of it :gj:

The female refusing is generally a good sign that things are progressing. :gj:

If you're finding rats expensive now, how will you feed the hatchlings you want?

thanks everybody. and to clarify, the rats arent necessarily getting expensive but its frustrating spending the money on rats i cant keep and arent being eaten. and i thought id mention they always seem to be active day and night wich i assumed was a sign that they were hungry. i threw the snakes together today and they are already laying with their tails close so im hoping for a lock tonight :D

Your snakes being active day and night could be a sign of stress.

Are all of your temps and humidity spot on?
