    Un-compatable resesives?
So, has anyone ever produced "double het" or double gene Hypos?
because not all lines are compatible, so would this result in double hets when bred together?

I assume it would, or possible double genes...

    Thanks,
    Theo

    Theo,

The only uncompatible lines AFAIK are Green and Citrus, possibly Yellow or Blue.

But yes if you were to breed those uncompatible lines together they would create double hets. There was a local breeder down here who made double hets last year. Orange Ghost x Citrus Ghost.

Sounds like a fun project. :gj:

What if the "double ghost" doesn't look any different than a regular high quality ghost ?? DH x DH is going to be a real mess when you don't even know what visual recessives you produce really are. Try selling a Ghost (not sure what type) that is 66% Het Ghost (of the other type) that could really be a Double Ghost that doesn't look any different that a nice looking ghost.

I can see how you could end up with DH Ghosts by trying to prove out an unknown ghost, but I don't see why someone would do it on purpose.

Id breed two lines of ghosts together to pray i got my 1 in 16 shot of getting something crazy.

    Honestly, why wouldn't we try?

if people never tried we wouldn't have the morphs we have today.
Yes take the shot of having a og 66% het gg.
but what if you were the first to make something unbelievable?
