Help ball python undersside is raw

I have just taken in this ball python from a neighbor that has a raw spot on its underside that is about eight inches long. What should I put on it if anything? I have the snake in a quarintine tank to protect my other snakes. The tank has paper towel in it as a substrate and is heated to 78-84 degrees with a humdity of 70% any help wopuld be great

You need a proper thermogradient in that tank with an under tank heater heating one side to 90-95F and the cold side to 80-85F with an ambient temperature of 80F.

Also, sounds like a burn or scale rot. What kind of conditions was the animal in? Can you take pictures? Chances are it could need a visit to the vet.

with such a large raw spot i'll would take it to the vet asap.

I have a vet appointment but the soonest I can get in is Wed. Was trying to see what to do in the mean time

You could clean it with some diluted Chlorhexidine or some Betadine.

It probably sat on a hot spot that was tooooo hot! Best of luck, and let us know how things go.
