    Slight Wheezing
Ok I just got my first ball python yesterday. She was fine when I was at the store and she was fine on the way home. But when I got home there was a slight whistling noise. There is no discharge, she has clear eyes, she is active. The only thing is the wheezing, you can barely hear it though. Is it just stressed or do you think she could be getting an infection? I am raising her heat on the warm side and im going to be raising her humidity.

I've heard that sometimes bps will softly whistle or breath really hard when scared. One of my guys does this.

I'd leave the her alone and observe her for a few days. One major indicator of an RI is excessive bubbly saliva in their mouths so I'd definitely check for that.

Ok that helps alot. I didnt think it would be a RI because yesterday at the store I looked her over completely and so did the store owner and she was completly healthy. So when I heard her wheezing slightly it took me by suprise.

she might also be "huffing" at you. Not quite hissing though when you hear that for the first time from a baby....it kinda sounds like wheezing. Keep an eye on her and see what happens over the next couple of days. I have also heard mine do it right after drinking sometimes as they stick their nose in too far.

Some stuck shed in a nostril can cause a little whistle. I can second the noisy blowing water out of the nose but mine was after a soak.
