    valentines day babies
    went to go check on the rats today and heard a bunch of little whines echoing throughout the garage. my pregnant mommy that i picked up on wednesday(along with all the others i plan on breeding), just had her litter. i counted 12 healthy looking little pinks :P yay!!!!

    I just got 11 dumbo hets yesterday. I am holding the females back to get some more dumbo breeder females. Exciting times!

    The other female in that trio popped last night. I haven't counted the little ones yet, but I suspect that there are at least ten there by the looks of the pile.

    20 total babies between the moms. Ten average is solid for a first litter.

    I can't wait to see how this project turns out. Manx Dumbos could be the next hot thing LOL.

    use birthing racks to reduce loss and 12-15 will not be uncommon if you follow the instructions I gave you

    I get an average of 10 without seperation

    I haven't lost any yet. These are first litters for these girls. Two of them had 11 and one had 9. They're all fat and healthy. I should have waited a little longer to breed them, but wtf. I get impatient sometimes LOL.

    I am going to be biting my nails waiting the 16 weeks to breed them. I NEED manx dumbos LOL.

    give the seeds while they are nursing...get them fat.

    Yeah, I have been giving the nursing females sunflower seeds to keep their calories up. I figure that it can't hurt. They're pretty much using every calorie that they eat at the moment.
