Issue with Pennyworth again...
I don't know If most of your remember my post 2 weeks ago, but I had a issue with my ball python regarding to feeding. He didn't eat because 'I touched him', or something. So, I waited for next Friday to feed him. He ate, so I thought, 'Ok, he's fine'. I was late on buying rats yesterday, so I thought it wouldn't hurt If i feed him on Saturday. Well, I bought some today and thought I'd feed him. I never touched him or bothered him. Again, everything is normal; Husbandry, temperatures, etc. Well, guess what? He doesn't want to eat! I don't understand. He has eaten small rats before, but he just looks intimidated by it. I don't get it.. He just ate last week?? Why would he just stop?:confused::confused:
Re: Issue with Pennyworth again...
A lot of times ball pythons can be picky, even only occasionally. Give him a few days and i'm sure he'll be hungry enough to want to eat. :P

I just went through this with my Lemon Pastel. I'm not sure if it was her hides or not, but I suspect it was. Or, it could've been she was intimidated by the rat. I just got her to end her hunger strike by getting her a mouse. She took it, and was looking for more. I'm going to work up the prey size from here.
Re: Issue with Pennyworth again...
Is there a way to save the rat? Can I have it just sit out for a couple days and then feed it to him? I hate wasting money.. :'(

You can re-freeze the rat as long as it doesn't stay out for too long. I try not get mine wet because I notice when there wet and you re-freeze is when you run into problems.
