Herpstat x 2 or Herpstat II?
I have no idea where to put this but since this is concerning BP's only, I thought it would be fine here.

Should I buy 2 Herpstats, or a Herpstat II? (I need to hook up an incubator and a 10 slot rack.)

(2 Herpstats will cost me $310 and a Herpstat II will cost $275)

Which option would you go with and why? Someone told me to ditch the Herpstat II and just go with two separate Herpstats... So now I am not sure what to do.

Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated!

I would probably go with the Herpstat 2 if you have the rack and incubator next to each other. If you plan on moving either one I would deffinately buy seperate thermostats.

You'll probably be better off with getting 2 Herpstats then you'll be more flexible like if you want to keep the incubator in a different room etc.

the herpstat II at spyder robotics is listed at $219,it literally is two 700 watt thermostats.the II model has audible hi and low alarms and other features not found on the basic models, the alarm feature alone would sell me,especially on a incubator.

if you bought two seperate stats you would pay more and get less.BTW i believe dion could get you a longer probe if it's necessary.have fun!

Thanks! Thing is I live in Canada so the prices are higher and I am not dealing directly with Dion. Does he ship to Canada?

Since you are going to love it so much (as will your preciouses) and it is going to make your life sooooooo easy, just buy the Pro now, so you don't have to upgrade when your collection grows later (you know it will  ).

Us reptile hobbyists will always find a good use for some kind of probe just laying around :D and with the Pro, you'll have 2 extra! :O

Spend a bit extra and get the herpstat pro. It will work perfectly for what you need right now and you will be set for when you expand as well. Eventually you will need to heat a hatchling rack and you'll still have another outlet for another adult rack.

**edit** looks like beastmaster beat me to it.

Sorry but to not make another thread and since this is related, What does the herpstat "ND" do? what does it make it different than the original, II and Pro?

    Thanks!
