    Need new Pet Store
Sorry for posting so much. Many questions suddenly hit me, and I knew this is the best place to ask. ;)

I need to find a new pet store. The store I bought my bp from has proven to be unreliable. I know this may be far fetched question/request for/from this forum, but if nobody knows, then maybe someone can point me in the right direction?

I am looking for a reptile store near Tarzana, CA. I thought if maybe if they're on this forum, they're probably reliable.

I live on the other side of the country but whatever you do... DON'T BUY FROM PREHISTORIC PETS! I feel so bad for those animals there and he'll charge you to walk in the door. I believe they are located in Southern CA.

What store did you buy from? Are they in Chatsworth off of Topanga? That's the only one I know of near you. So what problems are you having with this particular store?

They are located in Fountain Valley just south of Huntington Beach. They just started charging a few months ago. The times I have been there I was never charged. To causal goers it looks nice. What I noticed while I was there was that many of the bowls are not kept well. Tons of green algea accumulating. Nasty. I can't imagine what the animals were drinking. Loads of bacteria. I don't get that one bit.

Well, they aren't particularly friendly first off, and only seem to give direct short answers that answer the question only immediately - meaning that they won't elaborate on the meaning of the answer, or the question, which I think can be very important when trying to assess if customer x is doing things right. It's called "Reptile Depot," it's on Topanga Cnyn. between Chatsworth/Lassen. When I bought my ball python, they sold me a 5 gallon tank, a UTH, a stick-on thermometer, a humid-hide thing, a book, and they put some substrate in and said "that's all you need." I was a little suspicious, but I said okay, since I assumed they would know better than me. However, I couldn't help but notice that the stick on thermometer had to be changed, so I bought a dialogue (which was all I could come up with at short notice), which informed me that the ambient was about 70. Needless to say, I henceforth have spent quite a bit trying to create a better environment. The final nail in the coffin was when the snake I bought happened to have mites (which, when having just bought a snake, isn't really what you want to be dealing with). Although at first I thought it was something I did, I then recalled that when I held the snake at the store, some small black dots were on my hand. I should have realized it had mites =[. Anyway, when I called back and subtly asked if what I had (I didn't mention I bought it from them - yet) was okay, they said they didn't recommend it. Once I said that I had bought my equipment from them. They just repeated what they said before. I just don't want to deal with anymore, and so am looking for something better.
