    need helpful information!
Hi everyone. I have always found the people on this site to be informative and extremely helpful so I know you guys won't let me down. Anyway, my ball python which I've had for almost a year and still has a lot of growing left to do. He generally "goes to the bathroom" anywhere from 2-4 weeks. It has been and this is not a very accurate estimate because I have been busy with college, but I would say he has not gone in the last 8 weeks. Something isn't right. Any tips or any information that will put me at ease would be very much appreciated.

As long as there is no apparent blockage 8 weeks is not something I would worry about even with an animal that has been regular until then.

Now if the are near the vent is swollen and has been for a while which would indicate blockage try giving him a warm bath as a first step.

They pretty much go when they are ready to, depends on the food intake and the food being used for energy.

the tip of his tail seems to be significantly smaller than the rest of his body. is that what you mean by blockage?

Is there any way you can get a picture. My suggestion would be a warm (not hot) bath. I have had to help some of my snakes shed before and every time I soak them in warm water and run my fingers along their belly to get the shed off, they always end up pooping a little while later.

hold him and run ur finger tip along his belly. u shouldnt feel any bumps or anything irregular. it should all squish in and be soft. if u notice a lump from his belly to his vent then that is prolly his poop. if he has a blockage it will be like a lump stuck somewhere. try giving him a warm bath and if nothing then let him crawl around on the floor, that will help move things along. but i wouldnt be too worried just yet

remember it is luke warm. What is warm to us and warm to them is totally different. If you have a temp gun you can get the temp of the water.
