Very nice. :D How are the residents?
Re: yay! i built my rack!
How are you going to work the watering system? I always wonder about the little guys getting to the water in the deeper pans.
Re: yay! i built my rack!
lookin' good! it looks sturdy, functional, and compact!
if i ever get into breeding more than 2 colonies of rats, i might have to try something like this. it looks like quite a simple design.
great job!
Re: yay! i built my rack!
Your rack looks good. Is there any reason that you went with litter pans instead of mortar tubs?

the reason i did the litter pans is cause the design i used was built around those. it was off of this site. but is did find one built aroud the mortor tubs and i'm going to build my next one with those. this one suits my needs cause im only gonna have 2.4 breeders. so i figured i can use two tubs for breeding 1.2, the 2 tubs for birthing, then 2 tubs for growing rats. well see if thats gonna work for now but i will eventually build the mortar tub rack when it suits my needs.

just got them now as i got out of work. set them up with pine pellets and some aspen shaving to give them alittle something soft to lay on. they may have one purpose but i want them to be as comfy and happy as possible.
Re: yay! i built my rack!
Well it looks very nice to say the least. You can always install the water on the sides so the young ones can reach it. (if you need them to.) You can also make clip on hoppers for the pups if you need them to reach that too. I happen to like my rats a lot, they are trainable and very easy to get along with unless your smashing their heads in or swinging em by their tails.
