Quick Question About Breeding time feeding
I have two females that have been breeding since Oct/Nov one is a proven breeder over 3000grams and the other is her 1st season about 2000+grams. They started bowl about 2-3weeks ago and I can feel what I think is folicals in the smaller one.
My question is the smaller one killed the rat last week but did not eat it and this week refused. The larger one killed and did not eat this week. They both had been eatting like crazy since August. Would you all consider killing and not eatting refusing?
Re: Quick Question About Breeding time feeding
How long did you leave the dead rat in there with them afterwards? Reason I ask is because I will get interest but no strikes after ovulation on my females. But if I see interest I will leave it in there and they will usually eat it within an hour or two. Also I will decrease the size of the food after ovulation, it seems to get some more meals in them this way for me.
Re: Quick Question About Breeding time feeding
Both times I left it in there for about one hour and I took it out only after they had gone into their hides. They have not ovulated yet they were still locking up as of last week. Males go back in Monday/Tues.
Re: Quick Question About Breeding time feeding
I would stick to your schedule then and keep introducing/feeding as you were. Give it another week or two and see what happens.
