Have you been breeding her? My females soak for weeks on and off before ovulation. The other thing maybe mites. If they have mites they may soak for some relief. Either that or an approaching shed. These are some of the reasons I have experienced(well not the mites personally), hope this may help.

No i'm not bredding her and I don't think its mites, Ive only had her about a month and even during her first shed she didn't spend anywhere near this amount of time in the water!

Could be a number of reasons.

Sometimes BP's soak after a big meal, which was 2 days ago, I doubt this is the case.

Sometimes BP's soak if they are in shed, which probably isn't the case.

Most likely Mites if he/she has been soaking nonstop for days. Mites are little black specs. Check your water dish very carefully.. they look like black dust particles floating in the water.

Could be because he/she feels more secure in his/her water bowl then anywhere else. Make sure you have at least 2 tight fitting dark hides for him/her.

Check your temperatures and make sure the hot side is not too warm.

it is best to use a temp gun or even an acurite for checking temps. Acurite is a thermometer that has a probe. (you can get it at wally world or lowes for like $12-) Also check your humidity.

How old is she? I know you just got her and if she was very young and very tiny...she might be getting ready to go blue again??? It would seem a little early but they grow fast when there are hatchlings.

As far as mites go......Check around her vents and eyes for little black dots....you might even want to do this w/ a magnifying glass to see well.

Like the other poster stated...be sure that you have 2 hides that are the same and that they fit her tightly. No half logs! Also I am not sure if you are keeping her in a tub or a viv....don't recall. If it is a viv you might want to cover up 3 sides to make it more private for her. Depending on the size you might also add some fake plants and stuff to make it seem tighter in her viv.

Well that is all I have right now....hope this helps.

Mites or heat sound like the culprit, not many will soak for no reason.
Shedding, too hot/improper temps, mites, bad/improper hides are the first things to rule out.
