About how big do the follicles get before the pre-lay shed? Do they grow faster to egg size after the pre-lay shed?

They are already eggs by the time they are in their pre-lay shed, and its really hard to ultrasound them because they are so big. If you mean post-lay shed then they are around 20mm (we have an ultrasound).
