    brazilian rainbow boa sick
    hi

    i have one adult male rainbow. i feel that he is not healthy. the snake always is on the side that the heating pad is their but the snake doesn't receive heat and he is always cold.(21-22c)
    the snake is lethargy and doesn't move normally on the cage and the heat up and right. the snake doesn't show any sign of R.I
    the heating pad temp is 28c!
    i always measuring my cage temps with a raytek laser temp gun.

    no he is not eating.
    humid is 65% but i don't believe is the humid.

    I have had several breeders tell me the humidity has to be higher than that for babies. I was just reading an old article in Reptiles mag that said as much as well.

    I would suggest upping the humidity to 75-85% As the breeder for my BRB told me, "Keep in mind they live in the rainforest, they like to be wet!"
    When was the last time he shed and ate? Also, what is the ambient Temp of the enclosure?
    I hope everything clears up soon for you.

    What about him is making you think he's sick? After some unit conversions... 28C=82.4F So you can bring up the temperature a bit if you feel he isn't getting enough heat. Don't go any higher than 32C. Also remember that temp guns only measure surface temperature.
