Making Your Own Racking System - What does it take?
I am going to attempt to make my own racking system. I want to be able to hold about 12 snakes. So either a 1 massive "bookshelf case" split up 6 and 6 or 12 straight up and down shelving unit type thing.

    Type of Wood?

Should it be on rollers if possible?

Should I have it have 2 hinged doors for flush appearance?

And just so I can get an idea of how much people built their racks for would be awesome.

My collection is growing, so I want to get everything all flush and clean looking. Thanks for all suggestions. :-)

Well, since you will be building your own, the possibilities are endless. I would reccomend doing a search on here for DIY racks and look through the many threads to get ideas about what you want.

Hinged doors? My racks don't have doors, so I'm having trouble picturing that. I assume you'd mean glass or acrylic or something, to let in light, but I would think that would interfere a lot with ventilation...
