breeding dinker male from Togo???
Re: breeding dinker male from Togo???
If it's his first time breeding (and he's hot by the way), it may take him a few times to figure out what he's supposed to do. Unfortunately, they don't always perform like we'd like them to.
How old is he?
Have you tried to remove the sperm plug from another male and put it on her back? Have you tried heavily misting them both down when you put them together?
How about him with two females at the same time? Or leave some of her shed in the tub the next time she sheds and introduce them. If she's defecated before you put them together, leave it, rather than cleaning it up.
These are all tips I've used to try to get a reluctant male to breed. Some quite successfully.
However, it's all going to boil down to the individual animal.
And no - I don't think it's because he's an import - I think it's because he's just a male.

Good Luck, He is gorgeous!
Re: breeding dinker male from Togo???
99% of the time it's nothing to do with the males, it's the females not wanting to breed.
IS he like this with all your girls? What's his age and weight? Have you double/triple checked his sex by probing him yourself?
Re: breeding dinker male from Togo???
Hey thanks for the tips, he has been with many females for about 2 months but nothing! Some of them are about to ovulate now. I tried all the things you guys are writing … he is an old male because he is found in that size (1200g) 3-? Years Maybe! I got him last year and he was in a bad shape, the tracker had him for about a year I was told. He has sperm plugs so defiantly a male! Maybe he will lock up next year so I can see the result of his genetics, I hope it is genetic… looks a bit different as a normal Ball Python : )

I'm having a similar problem with my pinstripe male. Good luck getting yours to breed for you.
He is absolutely stunning though! I hope he proves out for you.

I'd say you stand a fair chance of that snake being genetic, it could almost be a super-chocolate looks wise.
Any chance of a belly shot? Normally if the belly suggests a snake is going to be genetic - it is.
Best of luck with him, he's a cracking looking snake.
