feeding 5 days or 7days?

is it safe to feed every 5 days or is it better to feed every 7 days to get snakes up to breeding size or does it really matter?

I try 5, if they start refusing go back to 7, or if they seem to look overweight.

how would you tell if their getting overweight?

If you have a baby ball python, it probably will not get over weight. The most common sign of obesity is skin showing in between the scales.

I keep my BP's on a 4 day feeding schedule until around 800 grams and then I move them to a 5-7 day schedule.

I have some baby boys on a 3 to 4 day schedule--I'm hoping to squeeze them in at the end of the breeding season. They're growing beautifully, and they only refuse a meal when opaque.

I usually feed them on a 5 day schedule for as long as they will accept it, and then switch them to a 7 day schedule if they start refusing. Once they're adults, they go on a 7 day schedule if they look like they're getting too hefty. I have a few big girls that go on a 10 or even 14 day schedule to keep their 'figure'. :)
Adult boys who eat some over the winter and aren't breeding go on a 7 day schedule.

so would it be ok to feed hatchlings and snakes that are up to 600g every 5 days and anything over 600ish grams every 7 days? does it sound reasonable to you guys? kinda stuck between what to do :S

Simple rule if you want to try every 5 days. Offer every 5 days. If you are getting consistent refusals at that frequency, then offer every 7 days.
