Finally was able to Switch to Prekilled
So yesterday I finally was able to switch to prekilled rat for my Boa Murphy. That was an experience in it self trying to prekill that sucker. Blood Sprayed everywhere when I hit it with a screw driver but the rat died very humanly I feel I think I just freaked out a little when it was twitching so I give it a few more blows to help. :( I have to change up my routine on that part. The part I have a question on is when feeding it. I put it in front of the snake and He looked at it with interest but did not grab the rat so I placed it on him and left. Came back a few minutes later and he was eating it but did not constrict it just acted like he killed it. Is this normal behavior to just start eating prey is he getting lazy? :D

Try f/t next time, much easier! Every Boa I have takes f/t without a problem. I even had a litter in June and all of them ate f/t for the first meal and have never even seen a live or pre-killed mouse or rat!

Well I am in the waiting period for my ASF to give birth and get that process running so I will probably go F/T then but for now its just going to be wack them and hand them.
