Shedding

What does it mean when a gecko sheds alot? He shedded 2-3 weeks ago and then he shedded again today.

What kind of gecko is it? My leopard geckos tend to shed every two weeks or so like clockwork.

I generally thought it was based on how much it gets fed, unless of course, skin is just sloughing off.

He's an African fat tail gecko. I got him about a month and a half ago. They told us he's roughly 3 years old. Since we've had him he's shedded probably 3 times. Every time with stuck shed on his toes and a little bit on his belly. We feed him twice a week and he usually eats 5 or 6 crickets.
