    Question About Back Heat
I just picked up a Reptile Basic Iris Sweaterbox Rack-32 Qt w/ Back Heat. This is my first time using back heat and I am having trouble getting the back of the tub up to 90. My thermostat only goes up to 105 and is clicking off before the tub temp reaches 90. I know the thermostat is working correctly because I have a thermometer probe on the flexwat. My room temperature is 81.

Does the flexwat really need to get over 105 to transfer the heat to the back of the tub?

    thanks

put your probe on the tub instead of the flexwatt

Yeah if you can.....set up a dummy tub

Tape the probe on the back of a tub that isn't getting used and set your stat to 90 and your good to go.

Otherwise I'd just say it's going to take a while to get it heated up.

How long have you let it try to "stabilize"?

I moved the prob off of the flewwatt and put it on the floor of the rack about 1/2 inch from the tape. This seems to have done the trick. Thanks for the ideas.
