You don't need lights for snakes. UTH's always need a thermostat for regulation otherwise they get far too hot.
For a younger blood, locking lid sterilites will be fine. For an adult, I recommend an animal plastics cage over anything really. :)

agree with this good advice.
It's good to see a potential blood owner take the time to make sure he researches what they need and sets about getting it in place for when he does acquire the snake.:gj: They do best on a good supply of rats make sure that getting them at any size wont be a problem where you are is another bit of advice I would give.

Requirements temperture wise is an ambient of 80 to 85 degrees..
Bloods and short tails do not like it as hot as many of the others that are kept..If the ambient temps stay within this range +/- a wee bit you should be fine..Check out www.bloodpythons.com for more reading on the species..
