A New Way to Keep Rat Colonies

Athena was watching me take care of the rats and one of them kept trying to escape, Anestassia-the one I pick up. I kept telling her no, picked her up off the side and put her back in the tub. Athena noticed that I was getting agitated and started barking at her whenever she jumped up there. She scared the heck out of Anestassia and she quit doing it after a couple times! That's why I had to pick her up myself! :rofl:

So far she hasn't tried to eat them! However, if I were to scream while holding that rat it would have a very different fate. Athena is a pretty gentle dog, as are most dobermans, but threaten her human! You've got another thing coming! I was at my granny's messing around with her geese because she had a really pretty one I wanted to pet. They honk and squawk like crazy when you try to catch them so she was already on edge. I caught and picked up the one I liked, pet it for a while, it went crazy, beating me with it's wings, I was screaming trying to hold on, but it got away from me after leaving some nice bruises :rolleyes: Athena chased after it and was able to pick it out of the 15+ gaggle of geese. She took the poor thing to the ground and started pulling feathers!!! I of course saved the goose, but it had some thin spots. I would have died laughing had she not been trying to murder that goose! She had never chased or attacked the geese before, but she was on a revenge mission that day!!! :rofl:

If you don't have any experience with geese, their natural defense is to hit you with their wings. They hurt like crazy! They can easily leave bruises and even break bones if the bone is fragile enough! ie: children

They look scared to death in the last photo. Pretty dog though.

Eh, they always hog pile. The agouti self (the wild colored one) is really skittish so that's her deal. I think I have 9 babies and 2 adults in there and they all lay on top of each other.

LOL that's cute! My oldest boston Daisy will stare at an empty container thinking there is a mouse in it. And when she does get to stare at a mouse I don't even think she breathes haha. I'll have to post some pics.
