    Spider got bit.
Yeah you read it right. She is a fiesty one and today she struck at the belly of the mouse and not the head. So the mouse fought back and bit her pretty good on the back. I managed to knock the crap out of the mouses head but the damage was done.

Its not bleeding or anything but its a good clean bite about 3 inches from her head. Is it like a cut on humans where it's safe to use peroxide and neosporin? It's fresh so I have time to react well before infection sets in. Luckily her tank was cleaned just yesterday.

Do not use peroxide (it stings and is not good for anything except remove stain ;)) use betadine or Chlorhexadine and apply some neosporine without pain killer or any triple anti-biotic ointment

Cool, Thanks! I'm glad I waited before I just went and did it.

I guesse the good thing is that as she moves around the wound doesnt touch the substrate to get dirty or anything.

Ouch that is a good bite! Sorry for that man usually the rat can not bite the snake that quickly or my snake will get them in the face. Poor Spider!

Like I said she didnt strike the head initially. So when she put the squeeze on, the mouse just fought back.

I just hope she heals up nicely, that's my prettiest baby so far. And she was not happy when I put the Neo on her. She hissed at me like none other.

Trust me if she would eat fresh killed/stunned or even f/t I would, it's a hell of alot cheaper if I could get them all on f/t. I have had BP's for about 7 yrs and this was the first time it's ever happened. I have always fed live.

Comes with the territory. Just like we the keepers are susceptible to bites from our snakes, theyre just as susceptible to being bitten by their prey.

My het got bitten like that, just about the same spot and same size. I didnt do anything to it, and after two sheds it was all gone and no scarring. They heal amazingly well.
