There is no 100% het pastel. Pastel is co-dom so a regular pastel is actually het for super pastel. But there is no normal looking snake that is het for pastel. If you breed a pastel to normal 50% of the offspring should be pastel and 50% should be normal on average. If you breed a super pastel to normal all offspring should be pastel.

Seriously if your new to BP's I would hold off on breeding and begin by learning the animals themselves. Breeding is a different world and you need to be prepared and knowledgable to things that can go wrong.

I agree, spend at least a year keeping one and learning all that is involved before you start. These things always sound like a great idea until the responsibility of it all hits. This isn't to say you shouldn't eventually breed, I wouldn't want to discourage you from the hobby at all. Just take your time, these things are ALWAYS better when they're not rushed, and that you can take to the bank.

    Cheers,

Was she sold to you as a het pastel, some advertise snakes as hets by stating siblings..ie..normal het lesser, simply as that was the pairing, this falsely leads newbies into buying normals thinking if they breed them they will get morphs.. their are some unscrupulous people out there

Yes I would definitely wait a while before breeding. Make sure your female is at least 2 years old and 1500g in weight.

As far as the het pastel goes. Some breeders will try and convince you the snake is het for spider or het for pastel. There was even the time my friend called me from the pet store she worked in because a "guy who breeds ball pythons" came into the store and told them the snake in the display was a pastel, not a normal. I went to go check it out and that snake was as normal as normal got. So be careful when you purchase a morph and make sure it is coming from a reputable breeder.

Het pieds have belly markers most call "train tracks", not all het pieds have the tracks though.

There are a few markers that some hets have. Not all hets will have them and some non-hets have them. My 100% heterozygous for pied normal male has pied markers.
