Re: silly question I thinK?
It is hard to know for sure what you will end up with, so the best thing you can do is ask for pics of the parents and see how you like them. The jags that have shown the most promise to produce nice clean yellow have seemed to be ones that have some diamond in them. The DJJ's, or diamond jungle jags, have probably been the most impressive that I have seen, although there have been very nice examples from all different types of breedings. With carpets it is just so tough to know what you will end up with until they are a couple years old. And if they are a couple years old with awesome yellow color, then people tend to not sell them. So, it is always a bit of a crap shoot.
Those are my .02. Good luck with your hunt, and if you miss the first time it is alright, will just give you an excuse to get another jag, or 10 :D
Re: silly question I thinK?
The percentages usually have to do with species don't they? Like a 75% jungle jag would have a 100% jungle parent and a 50% jungle, 50% coastal parent. Species can definently change the yellow, but I don't think those differences in percentages will have a consistent effect.

Richmond constrictors has a really nice looking coastal jag right now, go to www.richmondconstrictors.com and look at 11f coastal jag, she should color up veryyyyy nicely and you'll pay less than you would for a jungle or ij jag.
